Transfer Admissions Requirements

Application review takes 3-4 weeks once we have all required application documents.


Transferring with an A.A. degree OR 60+ credit hours?

1. To be considered for admission, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00 from all attempted college courses. In addition, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00 and be in good academic standing at your most recent institution prior to enrolling at UWF. Students are considered to be a Transferring Upperclassman.

2. Students who completed foreign language in high school (Level II, ie. Spanish II) and wish to use this curriculum to satisfy the University foreign language graduation requirement may do so. Students will request from their high school to have their high school transcript sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Transferring with 30-59 credit hours?

1. To be considered for admission, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00 from all attempted college courses. Additionally, applicants must have a 2.00 at your most recent institution prior to enrolling at UWF, be in good academic standing, and must have successfully completed at least 3.0 credit hours (with a letter grade of "C" or higher) in:

  • English Composition
  • Mathematics (college level)

Students are considered to be a Transferring Sophomore. Students not meeting these requirements must meet the requirements for transfer students with less than 30 transferable hours, as detailed below.

2. Students who are interested in receiving financial aid will still need to submit proof of high school completion (High School Transcript) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Department of Education requires institutions to receive proof of high school graduation (or equivalent) in order for Financial Aid awarded funds to be dispersed to the student. 

3. Students who completed foreign language in high school (Level II, ie. Spanish II) and wish to use this curriculum to satisfy the University foreign language graduation requirement may do so. Transferring with 12-29 credit hours?

To be considered for admission, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00 from all attempted college courses. Additionally, applicants must have a 2.00 at your most recent institution prior to enrolling at UWF, be in good academic standing, and meet the freshmen admission requirements. Which includes High School academic requirements (High School GPA & courses and ACT/SAT college placement exams). Students are considered to be a Freshman Transfer.
