Mr. Matthew Altier

Matthew Altier serves as the vice president for Administrative Services for the University of West Florida. As the vice president, Matt oversees campus safety and security, business continuity and emergency operations management, facilities development and operations, campus buildings and grounds management, human resources, financial services, procurement and contracts, business and auxiliary services, information technology services, campus accessibility, informal dispute resolution, WUWF public media, and West Florida Historic Preservation, Inc. In addition, Mr. Altier also serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Emergency Operations Manager for the university, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer for UWF Business Enterprises, Inc.
Altier most recently served as vice president for administration and finance at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, a public and highly selective liberal arts college, where he was responsible for budget & finance, campus master planning, revenue generation, public-private partnerships, and environmental health and safety.
Previously, Mr. Altier worked for the 29,000-student California State University, Sacramento, as university vice president for planning, real property and new business, and chief executive officer of University Enterprises, Inc. He was responsible for University Master Planning, management of property and real estate development, and development of public-private partnerships.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology at California State University, graduating Cum Laude; he earned his Associate of Science at Yuba College, Marysville, CA, again graduating Cum Laude. Matt achieved his Associate of Science in Engineering at the Community College of the Air Force and was in the top five percent of his class; he also completed his U.S. Air Force Engineering Technology Degree at the Air Force Engineering College, as an Honor Graduate. He has graduate course work in Business Administration, and earned his Certified Public Manager certificate in Florida. He graduated from the United States Air Force Inspector General Internal Auditing and Quality Control Technical Training School, Beale AFB California, and has a U.S. Air Force Air Traffic Control and Voice Communications Specialist Degree.
In addition to his educational background in industrial technology and engineering, Altier served ten years in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller and Chief of Design and Construction Management. Matt was the Executive Director of Business and Operations for Pacific Architects and Engineers, Inc. in Mallorca and Menorca, Spain where at the age of 28, was recognized as the youngest person (at the time) in contract history to be responsible for the management and operation of an entire NATO base. Matt is also fluent in Spanish.
