About ACM
Founded
in 1947, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the largest and
oldest international scientific and educational computer society in the industry
today.
Since its inception, ACM has provided its members and the world of computer science a forum for the sharing of knowledge on the developments and achievements necessary to the fruitful interchange of ideas. Over the years, ACM has flourished along with the industry itself, playing a major role in enriching the quality, form, and function of computer use.

About ACM at UWF
The UWF Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) was founded by MIS majors in fall Spring of 2002.
Our mission is to create and maintain a friendly and prosperous environment in which students majoring in MIS will advance intellectually and professionally by broadening their knowledge and skills through membership activities and contribution to the Chapter and the community.
The Chapter provides a range of activities including talks by the professionals, some of whom are UWF graduates; visits from prominent speakers on the ACM Lectureship Program circuit, technical and career workshops, field trips to computing installations, social, and community activities.
UWF Student Chapter of ACM is scheduled to meet every three weeks to accommodate and practice the above-mentioned activities.
