February Progress Report

The Academic Visioning Oversight team has been meeting weekly to develop the appropriate plan for Phase II of Academic Visioning – development of the Academic Strategic Master Plan. The elements of the Academic Strategic Master Plan will include the 2012-2017 Academic Vision and Mission statements, Values, Goals, Strategic Priorities, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Team has established an April 30th deadline for completion of Phase II. Phase III of academic visioning will be the development and implementation of academic unit action plans during the 2012-2013 academic year.

The 2012-2017 Vision and Mission Statements will be posted on the Visioning website in the coming days. In addition, the strategic priorities have been narrowed from 4-5 priorities per goal (35 total strategic priorities) to 2-3 strategic priorities per goal (18 total strategic priorities). The narrowing process was based on incorporation of the data generated at the Jan 6th open forum (data posted on website) and the Sept 16 Goals Conference (data included in SAVE phase I final report).

The Oversight Team will host an action planning conference later this semester to complete the next level of action planning for the 18 strategic priorities. Currently, a list of participants and for the action planning conference is being assembled.
