Funded ITEP Projects - 2012
Seventeen outstanding ITEP proposals, requesting a total of $497,978, were submitted this year. Unfortunately, only approximately $437,000 was available to fund ITEP projects in 2012.
The Technology Fee Committee ranked the proposals based upon established criteria. Based on this evaluation process, the following twelve projects were selected for funding:
- Implementing “SCALE-UP” (Student-Centered Active Learning Environment for Undergraduate Programs) in the Physics Department ($12,014).
- Updating Communication Arts' Digital Video Editing Lab ($72,884).
- Upgrade Instructional Technology in Biology Labs ($29,985).
- Subscription to the electronic Human Relations Area Files (eHRAF) database ($3,590).
- Developing Two Distance Learning Labs @ REEF/PNS ($56,688).
- Creating “Knowledge Bars” in the new College of Business building ($27,197).
- School of Education’s Introduction to Basic Instructional Robotics ($22,324).
- School of Education’s Virtual Coaching Model ($19,440).
- Expanding the Teacher Technology Resource Center ($27,851).
- Improving the Current State of Instructional Technology in Teacher Preparation ($34,870).
- (CORAL Center) Exploring Innovative Data Venues for Mixed Methods Research in the Social Sciences ($79,125).
- Library’s purchase Web of Science Archive [1975-2012] ($31,444).
Funded Systemic Projects - 2012
Sixteen outstanding proposals, requesting a total of $1.6 million, were submitted this year. Unfortunately, only $854,436 was available to fund systemic projects in 2012. This is after deducting the $153,703 required to fund a 2010 award to replace computers in existing computer labs.
After being reviewed by the Technology Fee Committee, the following seven projects were selected for funding:
- Library - Patron Driven Acquisition Project to acquire eBooks ($25,000)
- Library - Purchase of Apple iPad2s for students to check out ($24,252)
- Upgrade Instructional Technology in the Mainstage Theatre ($70,100)
- Upgrade classrooms at the FWB Campus to eClassrooms ($144,000)
- University Digital eClassroom Standard: The Model Classroom ($75,000)
- Library - Microsoft Surface Interactive Table ($13,500)
- Upgrade classrooms to eClassrooms ($502,584)
