The University of West Florida invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of Libraries. The University seeks a dynamic, innovative Dean of Libraries with a strong commitment to scholarship, learning, and service and demonstrated understanding of the role of current and emerging technologies in an academic library environment. The Dean of Libraries is responsible for formulating a clear vision for the library and for providing vital leadership for the University's library programs. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of Libraries is a key member of the University’s Academic Leadership Team responsible for providing strategic direction and for promoting the libraries' role as a valued campus partner in the teaching, learning and research mission of the University.
The Dean should have a clear vision and extraordinary leadership skills that will enable the libraries to work in tandem with collegiate units and the University's central administration to define and promote the role of the libraries as a core component of the University’s academic mission.
