Civic Literacy Requirement

The 2017 Florida Legislature amended Section 1007.25, Florida Statutes, to require students initially entering a State University System (SUS) and/or Florida College System (FCS) institution in 2018-2019 and thereafter to demonstrate competency in civic literacy. One method to satisfy this requirement is through an exam.

Before attempting the exam, you should work with your academic advisor to determine which method is the best for your degree plan. In some cases taking one of the classes may satisfy general education or other requirements and be a better choice for your degree pathway. More information about the civic literacy requirement can be found at uwf.edu/civicliteracy

If you wish to attempt the Civic Literacy exam as the method to satisfy this requirement, follow the steps outlined on the confluence page to enroll in the exam.

This exam includes 100 multiple choice questions. To satisfy the Civic Literacy requirement you must have 60 correct answers. You will have 120 minutes to complete this exam using the Respondus LockDown Browser.  You do not need to take this exam in Testing Services. Any computer with Respondus Lockdown Browser may be used.
