All part-time faculty must have a minimum of a master's degree by SACS criteria -- possible exception would be for an individual with a bachelor's degree and extensive career experience in the discipline area; e.g., a bank president teaching a banking course, a senior partner in an accounting firm teaching an accounting course, a plant manager teaching an operations management course. All requests for exceptions involving the substitution of extensive managerial experience for the master's degree must be documented to the Dean's Office in advance of employment along with information indicating that no one with an appropriate master's degree was available to teach the course during the term of employment.
