The Novemner 4th Famers' Market went extremely well! Over a dozen venders came out to sell there local grown or crafted products! Three farmers supplied a very wide veriety of vegetables and greens. Fudge, fresh eggs, flowers and jewlery were umung the others represented.

This is an effort to encourage the community to purchase from local businesses and farmers to support our local economy and more sustainable consumption. Buying locally reduces the pollution associated with transportation and supports environmentally sustainable farming practices. On November 12th 2009, SEAS hosted the first ever UWF Farmers' Market. Over 14 venders set up on the Cannon Greens to sell there locally made and or organic crafts / foods. Items from fruits, veggies, cakes and steaks to photo frames, jewelry, and custom clocks were showcased. Students received the event very well and venders did surprisingly well. SEAS wishes to offer the UWF community the chance to purchase local and organic goods right on campus and is pleased to say that they will have a minimum of two farmers' markets in the upcoming year.
