The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is in charge of licensing lodging units throughout the state. DBPR publishes licensing information by county on its website at (www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/). For your convenience, the OEDE has posted DBPR licensing data for the western-most coastal counties of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Franklin and Wakulla. This data includes the number of lodging units and the total number of rooms licensed for each county.
It is important to note that some hotels acquire licenses before construction is complete, or they may keep the license while undergoing repairs and/or upgrades but may not be open for business. For a glossary of the terms used by the DBPR, please click here.
