Invention Convention
Students will enter the world of invention by researching important inventions, learning about the invention process and inventing their own product!! Campers will also learn about how levers, fulcrums and screws work as well!
Students will:
- Learn the difference between discovery and invention
- Understand the invention process
- Reproduce the daily “invention of the day”
- experiment with levers, fulcrums and screws (Small Group)
- Keep an inventor’s notebook
- Produce 30 minute “Quick Think” inventions from supplied materials (Small Group)
- Create a Rube Goldberg type invention

Learning Outcomes »
Students will be introduced to the creative process scientists use to invent, perform internet research, use iPads to produce inventions, and use supplied materials to create an invention of their own. They will be introduced to scientific methods of discovery. They will use unrestricted creative thinking.
The students will showcase their Rube Goldberg invention in person and/or the video of their process on Friday, June 14th.
