Explorations in Space for Grades 1-3
Students will gain an understanding of the science principles that were necessary to accomplish the space program. They will explore the characteristics of space and the topics related to it.
Students will:
- Perform hands-on experiments related to the principles of motion
- Learn about light as it relates to astronomy
- Explore historical context of the space race
- Practice performing experiments in small groups and communicating the results

Learning Outcomes »
Students will be able to compare the three laws of motions and how they relate to space. They will learn how to be able to list the properties of the parts of the electromagnetic spectrum and create a lab book to present this work. Campers will also learn about the scientific method.
The final showcase will take place on Friday afternoon around 2:00pm.
