UWF’s annual Day of Giving returns on April 17
University of West Florida Argonauts and supporters worldwide are invited to participate in UWF’s seventh annual Day of Giving on Thursday, April 17. Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University have the chance to make a positive impact and contribute to UWF's success during this 24-hour online fundraising initiative.
UWF’s TeacherReady Program continues partnerships to address teacher shortages nationwide
For more than two decades, the University of West Florida’s TeacherReady Online Certificate Program has made a significant impact in addressing teacher shortages across the U.S. through innovative partnerships with school districts, assisting para-professionals, non-certified teachers, military veterans and spouses, career changers and recent college graduates in obtaining their teaching certifications. By providing a pathway to teacher certification, these collaborations help school districts cultivate and retain high-quality educators.
UWF sport management students gain hands-on experience at March Madness and Super Bowl
Nine University of West Florida sport management students recently had the opportunity of a lifetime, traveling to San Antonio, Texas, to work the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four. The students experienced firsthand the intricacies of organizing and running a major sporting event, working alongside Keep San Antonio Beautiful to promote sustainability during sporting events. They also connected with Steve Zito, assistant director of convention and sports facilities at the Alamodome, where the Final Four games took place, and a member of the UWF Sport Management Program advisory board.
